Their chopper was up overhead filming the scene and it was about 6:57/8 when it went down as their livestream lost signal. They were scheduled to go up to them at 7:00 pm for the top of the hour story. They immediately knew as they couldn’t communicate with them. LAPD was asking who was up there and other news stations all checked in. They just couldn’t legally jump to conclusions about something so impactful.
