@phre3.0: When Walt Disney World opened in 1971, getting into Magic Kingdom cost just $3.50 for an adult. Of course, there was a catch that gets left out of a lot of these comparisons. That $3.50 was admission to the park. Many attractions required separate ticket books, so it wasn't the same all-inclusive experience a Disney ticket provides today. Still, imagine arriving in Florida in 1971 and seeing Magic Kingdom for the first time. There was only one Disney World park. No EPCOT. No Hollywood Studios. No Animal Kingdom. More than 50 years later, Walt Disney World has grown into something almost unrecognizable from opening day, and ticket prices have grown right along with it.
