Do you know which sins quietly push you away from God? Many people think that as long as they pray and attend church, they are safe. But some sins, if ignored, can slowly distance you from Him. Especially the third one—pride— the very sin that led Satan to rebel against God. First, complaining and grumbling Always focusing on problems instead of counting God’s blessings weakens your faith. The Bible teaches us: ""In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."" (1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV) Practice writing down three things you are thankful for each morning. Let your heart focus on God’s goodness rather than your circumstances. A grateful heart notices the beauty around it. Second, holding grudges Resentment may seem like punishing others, but it harms you first. God wants you to release grudges and live in freedom: ""And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you."" (Ephesians 4:32 KJV) Pray for those who are hard to forgive, and entrust them to God—your heart will feel lighter. Third, pride and self-reliance When you rely on yourself instead of God, you block His work in your life. Pride blinds you to His guidance. Many overlook this sin, but it’s the very sin that caused Lucifer to fall. It didn’t start on earth—it started in heaven. He tried to exalt himself, to take God’s place. The Bible says: ""Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."" (Proverbs 16:18 KJV) So every morning, pray: ""Lord, I surrender myself to You.
