as a fellow atheist I understand what he means, I have no problem dating someone with a religion but I have a problem dating someone who is controlled by their religion. go to church on holidays, pray before bed, but giving a weekly tithe of 10% and going to bible study twice a week is too much.

I'm an atheist and I get it. Your partner is someone you go home to at the end of the day. If I can't handle someone being that expressive about religion at home, then we shouldn't be dating. They have just as much right to express themselves as loudly as they want for the same reasons I want to be just as loud in a secular way. In fact I think that level of faith or conviction in anything is beautiful. A home is a sanctuary. You should be with someone who wants to protect that. (you can thank LGBT+ elders for telling me to knock that angry atheist stuff off and helping me find a better path LMAO)
