@fransilvestrearquitectos: The existing spaces embody a history that predates the intervention—places where the key lies not in imposing, but in understanding and preserving their identity, acting only where necessary. Each pre-existing structure possesses a unique character that precedes any new architectural gesture. The challenge lies in working with these given conditions to breathe new life into something that already holds value in its own right. This premise underpins three projects: Mas Cadalt, La Casa Vacía and the renovation of the Aguas de Valencia office building. From the restoration of a rural farmhouse on the outskirts of Girona to the intervention in a 1905 Modernist building in Valencia’s historic centre, each proposal responds to its own singular character. Their shared objective is to adapt these spaces to contemporary living—enhancing natural light, simplifying maintenance and discreetly integrating building services—without disrupting the harmony of an existing ecosystem that calls for continuity. These interventions invite reflection on the memory of a place and its future evolution. Each is guided by material, geometric and formal coherence: naturally restoring the deteriorated elements and introducing, with precision, only those that were missing. #fransilvestrearquitectos
