I was a self employed plumber, I also rent out a number of properties, I have a number of small private pensions and I deserve the state pension

I’m nearly 60 and agree - I have never trusted future Governments to meet all my retirement financial needs. As a result, I have always made a higher than average percentage contribution to my personal/private pension. It’s sad that it seems other people in my generation weren’t supported to understand and absorb this info.

there one thing you forget to put in that many people did not have a pension when they were working to put into it was not around then later on yes but people could not afford to put a lot in just the basic amount so don't say you should have put more in because you not got a clue
