@artvangarde: Artist Piotr Waśniowski explores sculptural forms through a precise process of hot-wire cutting. In Rocaille, a heated metal wire moves through a block of extruded polystyrene (XPS), cutting the material into flowing curves. As the wire passes through the foam, the shape gradually emerges, revealing a sculptural form that would be difficult to create with an ordinary blade. The title Rocaille refers to an ornamental style associated with shell-like shapes, curves and asymmetry. Here, those decorative forms are produced through a simple interaction between heat, material and controlled movement. #3dprint #niche #artist #art #avantgarde
