American Airlines did not relax their qualification standards for Black pilots (or any other group for that matter). Charlie incorrectly believed that they had to lower their standards for Black pilots because…wait for it…he’s racist

one of my old jobs I had to be qualified for had the supervisor ask people including myself if we had any black friends because they need to to hire more black people in order to be fair this is 100% true I had to work and be qualified for the position that was being given to other people based on race. and this was all the way back in 2003

Bro was not racist they’re was a lot of African Americans that stood with Charlie and supported him. Most of the people calling him racist are in fact white liberal Americans. Or uneducated individuals on the topics he talked about. He fought really hard to make Young Americans understand that fighting for freedom means fighting against the current system that the colleges are pushing. Black, white, Hispanic, Asian, this is our country and we should make it exceptional. Race shouldn’t matter we’re Americans

This goes for myself too. I’ve seen myself get rejected and get wild reactions time and time again because of the industry I decided to fully immerse myself into. I have done what I can to prove that I am worthy, I am fully certified from hard work. But I still get the 50% of “are you that qualified”. This breaks it down and explains “WHY”. Well now it’s the time to prove people wrong.

he worded it incorrectly, ofcourse your rivals are going to use your words against you. He chose to outline the fact that a pilot is black instead of the standards. If he worded that better, people would not have that view of him. If I were a straight man and then said 'When I see a girl I hope she isn't trans' then I look transphobic, I can't later say 'No what I meant was I am not romantically/sexually attracted to transwomen not that I hate transwomen' see? Like you can't blame people for taking you word for word, at that point its your fumble that you need to work on. (im asexual btw, I 100% support transpeople, the above was an example)
