I have the same HOTAS, but for the PS3. I love how they perfected a basic design 20ish years ago and basically never changed a thing.

Hotas is good for flying around and transporting players/supply runs. MnK is much better for gun/rocket chopper

i got this last weekend and I can only get the buttons on the left hand to work can't get the throttle up or down to register or even the rudder action to register so and flying with it feels like shit I use controller and it seems to be much better than this and having tried mouse and key board yet which I'll have to try soon

I'm using controller to fly. its a pain to aim the mini guns with. but its manageable with the rocket pods. but for actually flying its great.
