The first truth: the Bible never says that “a woman who wears trousers in the modern sense cannot enter heaven.” First Peter chapter 3 reminds believers not to focus only on outward adornment, but to value the inner beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. The point is not to create a list of “which clothes can get you into heaven and which clothes will send you to hell.” The point is not to let outward appearance become the most important pursuit of your life. The second truth: God looks at the heart. First Samuel 16:7 says, “Man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” A woman can wear the longest skirt and never wear makeup, yet still be filled with pride, jealousy, and bitterness. Another woman may wear ordinary trousers and sincerely love God, desire repentance, and choose obedience. Outward appearance cannot automatically prove that someone is more holy. The third truth: salvation is not earned through clothing. Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith, not by works. So the length of a skirt, whether you wear makeup, or whether you wear trousers are not tickets into heaven. Of course, this does not mean clothing does not matter at all.
