I actually felt the same way. I’m Filipino, but I’m also older. For me there were so many things going on. I didn’t have time to process an emotion yet, and it’s already moved on to the next scene. It was a little too fast for me and to much stimulation, but still came out with a positive feeling in the end.

I also saw it during an early screening, personally for me, it was just okay. But I wasn’t really fond of it and don’t really see myself recommending it to people. This was just sort of of miss for me.

Love it, it resonates to me immediately specially in First 30 minutes that’s how good it is, because Im Filipino however I was so happy because they were so sensitive enough not to isolate the outsider because many jokes were so Filipino and at the same time they didn’t make it too much so other audiences would resonates as well it’s hard to explain, they can’t be in slow-paced and too invested to one character like Manang creature for instance, Us Filipino know already what she is so it was automatic and if they gonna explain what she is in the movie it would need 3 hours explaining each character. I appreciate it though because you were open minded watching it and that’s the best part.

Watched it a second time and it’s better. Also, I understood Batiba’s motivation at the end.

Overall great movie. I think it’s a bit to frenetic for me, but I’m old. Great story and delivery of it though and I think Raissa and Jo are great characters. I recommend it for sure. 8/10 for me.

I could tell from the trailer being a minute long exposition that the plot did not come together. They NEED you to have an understanding of the plot coming in to make it easier to land.
