A Rep range is exactly what it says. A “rep range”. That would mean there’s no need to be so hyperfixated on an exact number. - My range? 3-6. Get me in and out. Do I recommend everybody do 3-6? Ofc not. Heck majority of people can barely do a hard set of 3 reps CLEAN. Then majority of people aren’t advanced lifters and can achieve more total stimulating reps. So for most, I think 6-8 is fairly ideal when looking at what they can tolerate and their form. - Let’s be real. Many people trying the lower end of 4-8 reps have horrible form but call it “maximizing hypertrophy” when they’re in fact incorporating additional tasks that will then include MUR towards other muscle groups. So much for “maximizing”.. - Also people that tend to lift with lighter loads experiment with something heavier than usual are more susceptible to injuries. You don’t get hurt because of heavy loads. You get hurt because you went over your threshold. Your body hasn’t adapted enough to tolerate the task you tried. And you’ll usually notice it could be because that heavier load took them in a ROM they don’t load at all - So know what you can handle. Both with how weak you possibly may be and the coordination you have with higher degrees of effort. I find for most people, 6-8 is perfect. If you can’t fix your form between there, that’s a skill issue for sure. Because there isn’t a *need* to be beyond 8 reps. But if you want to, I couldn’t care less. Remember, it’s about getting to that high degree of effort to cause adaptations
