Those extra sounds appear between the fundamental and the first overtone, where no harmonic can exist. What we do know is that they have exactly the same contour as the fundamental. Every bend, every fluctuation, identical. So if they have the same shape but can't be harmonics, what are they? The same sound, pitch-shifted and pasted on top of the fundamental.
