Just some food for thought: i basically hired my wedding planner because she was giving us so many vendor recs on our intro call. Her giving us helpful info even without hiring her told me she was confident in her value - we could have just gone and booked those vendors without hiring her. She was about 2x what we’d wanted to spend but her giving away some of her “secret sauce” gave us so much confidence in her that we got off the call and my fiancé (who went into the call agreeing we wouldn’t hire her bc it was too much $$) got off the call and said “well, we have to hire her”. So sometimes, giving people the stuff you think is proprietary can give you a LOT of credibility and goodwill with people.
