this 31-year-old woman was once a little girl asked out as a joke. I still struggle with compliments because I think hurt is coming afterwards. those "jokes" turned into feeling like I am not worthy nor deserving of actual dates, love, and relationship. I have had to do a painful amount of work to love and accept who I am and to be a happy, confident woman. it is still lonely as hell, and it hurts 💔

I had this conversation with God last night. My heart can't take this feeling of seeming to have all the love in the world, yet no one to give/share it with. I have never once in my life been chosen as someone's date (in a romantic sense) or girlfriend, and at 30 I often wonder if I'll ever be found or chosen. Seems like I'm a diamond in the rough, and no one is looking deep enough in the ground to find me when all the other gems are closer to the surface and more pleasing to the eye.

It's like you've read my soul. 😢 But I'm two decades older..so a whole extra lifetime of yours. An entire extra lifetime of wasted wishes and birthday candles. 20 year old me would never believe we'd still be here. But I've finally made peace with it. For the most part.
