Throughout this long history, powerful states such as the Hunnic Empire, Göktürk Khaganate, Seljuk Empire, Ottoman Empire, and the Republic of Türkiye played important roles in shaping the political and cultural history of the Turkic world. The Hunnic Empire was one of the earliest major Turkic states. Under rulers such as Mete Han, the Huns established a powerful military and political structure and controlled large areas of Central Asia. Their military organization and state traditions influenced many later Turkic peoples and states. The Göktürk Khaganate was particularly significant because it was the first state to use the name “Türk” as its official political identity. Established in the 6th century, the Göktürks ruled over large parts of Central Asia. The famous Orkhon Inscriptions provide valuable information about their history, culture, rulers, and understanding of statehood. The Seljuk Empire played a major role in the westward expansion of the Turks. Following the Battle of Manzikert in 1071, Turkic settlement in Anatolia accelerated. The Seljuks of Rum later established a powerful state in Anatolia, contributing to the development of cities, trade routes, caravanserais, madrasas, and distinctive architectural traditions. The Ottoman Empire emerged in Anatolia at the end of the 13th century and gradually became one of the largest and most influential empires in history. After the conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the Ottomans became a major power connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa. For centuries, the empire was home to many different peoples, religions, and cultures, leaving a vast political, architectural, and cultural legacy. Finally, the Republic of Türkiye was established on October 29, 1923, under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Since then, Türkiye has continued its development as a modern and independent state. From the Huns and Göktürks to the Seljuks, Ottomans, and modern Türkiye, this long historical journey reflects the evolution of Turkic states, cultures, and political traditions across centuries. #fypp #edit #turkey #History #peak - @astredts
