Some have time limits and of course you can’t take food home, and as long as someone isn’t wasting plates of food but otherwise this isn’t a good look for an “all you can eat” Let’s be realistic, how many times do you have people eat so much that you lose money? I would think not very often to make this kind of scene.

The only “politely rule” is that if you leave a bunch of leftover meat in your plate, they will not serve you anymore to avoid spoilage. Of course you can leave few small pieces of fat or something you didn’t like but if you start piling up meat in your plate, they will stop serving you. But u can eat for hours non stop and nobody will say anything.

It averages out. One customer eats a lot and many others eat much less. I’ve never had an issue at a buffet.
