Over the summer and fall, the coastal brown bears of Katmai National Park in Alaska are going through hyperphagia, which is a state of hunger where they eat TONS of salmon to increase their fat stores before winter hibernation. Every year Fat Bear Week runs a contest where people can vote for the fattest bear of the year. #fatbearweek #katmainationalpark #bears
