FWIW, card holders used to be in group 1 regardless of which class of ticket. At least that was true when I first started using airline credit cards in 2014!

My company bought me basic economy and I purchased an upgrade. I had gotten a membership with this airline and after I checked in they upgraded me. I was surprised. Prefer flying with them

Had a woman come up to me yesterday asking “if I’m In seat 16c, why does it say I’m zone 7?”. I explained to her that her boarding zone is mainly based on what she paid for the ticket. And, she immediately said “so, I’m going to get punished for what I paid on my ticket and I’m going to have to give up my bag?” 🤦🏻♀️
