The original mortgage documents for the loan on my house, which was built in the 50’s, states no color people. I was shocked to see this statement but not surprised as the neighbor is still predominantly white. 🤷♀️

They did that to my mom and dad my dad was a World War Two veteran we had a house in Englewood on the south side of Chirack in the late sixties my dad passed in nineteen seventy seven my mom couldn’t keep up the house payments and other bills we were forced to move out because the insurance policy my parents had was a useless scam😡

My parents sold in Chicago at a loss during the "white flight" when I was 9. I loved all my multicolored multicultural friends and neighbors so much, I loved everything about my neighborhood on the west side of Chicago. I was inconsolable and angry that my parents were so racist. It was all so much stupid unnecessary trauma.

they are still doing it today in Chicago. we have still have communities on the south and west sides that are 85% black, but only 15% black ownership. Even worst, we are barely able to get around the red tape of being business owners in our communities, while organizations like United way zone us as Food deserts only, meaning they won't fund nonprofits to provide other services like Art, Healthcare, Workforce Development....
