Not sure if anyone has said this, but up in Canada, we would leave the trailer brakes charged and only pull the tractor (blue) button in the winter time after driving in snow. This way when you went to leave, the trailer brakes wouldn't be frozen to the drums. You would use the truck engine to break the tractor brakes loose. We would also leave the trailer brakes charged for a while to cool off before disconnecting from the trailer for the same reason - so the brakes wouldn't be frozen on for the next guy that hooked up to the trailer.
