@cbsmiami: Rick Ross was arrested Thursday in connection with a domestic violence incident at his Star Island mansion, where a woman accused him of repeatedly striking her and restricting her breathing during an altercation in late August, according to Miami Beach police. Ross, whose legal name is William Leonard Roberts II, voluntarily surrendered to detectives and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He faces one felony count of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor count of battery. According to the arrest affidavit, the woman said Ross became angry after she was tagged in an Instagram photo, slapped her, struck her in the chest and restricted her breathing by grabbing and twisting her hoodie. She also alleged he grabbed her ponytail, slammed her against a wall, struck her in the face, pushed her to the floor and attempted to spray her with a shower head. Police said she later provided a sworn statement and photographs of her injuries. Ross' attorney, Bradley Horenstein, denied the allegations, and urged the public to allow the legal process to play out. Ross appeared via Zoom in Miami-Dade bond court, where Judge Mindy Glazer found probable cause and set his bond at $5,000. The judge also issued a stay-away order barring Ross from contacting the alleged victim directly or indirectly and ordered him to surrender any firearms and concealed weapons. #rickross
