I asked for medium rare at Longhorns a few weeks ago and once I got it and cut into it, I saw it was completely well done and burnt a lil on one side. I was terrified to tell the server but finally did and she said she could get a new one but I'd have to pay for both. I thought that was crazy so I apologized and kept it. Won't order another one and probably won't be back for a while.

I had a relative who prided himself in making servers cry. The restaurants he frequented probably had one big party when they realized he wasn't coming in anymore.

A former manager had asked me to contract for about three months. On my last day a colleague came up to me and pointed out a mistake I had made. I looked at the date and remarked that was my first day. I thought that was the end of it and went to walk away and again she pointed out the mistake, again I said it happened on my first day. She was insistent and wanted me to know about the mistake and I kept saying, “Yep, that happened on my first day”. She then said well I just don’t want you doing it again. My response, ”This is my last day, so I absolutely promise not to make the mistake again”.

most people ordering temps for their steaks don't actually know what they're ordering. once upon a time, I wouldnt allow servers to ask for temps, only what color the customer wanted the inside of the meat to be lol
