A team ships code every day. How do they keep one small change from taking production down with it? One developer is adding a promo code box to a food delivery app. It works on her laptop. On the server it crashes, because one library is a different version there. A teammate rewrote the same checkout file last week and nobody noticed until the two changes ran into each other. So the team merges everything at once and spends a week pulling it apart again.
