Stopped my meds at the end of June went into mania and spent thousands and thousands of dollars then hit a major depressive episode that I just now am recovering from this week....it took months for the meds to work again it was not my best decision! I disclose this with love and I'm praying things go much better for you but also just brace yourself and prepare for things possibly going left! 🫶🏽

ADHD meds ( stimulants ) on their own can throw you into mania when you are not on a mood stabilizer. If antipsychotics are the problem , other mood stabilizer’s like Lamotrigine could be good rather than raw dogging it . Discuss your psychiatrist

I quit Abilify cold turkey in June due to the excessive weight gain. Had the greatest, most psychotic summer ever! Would not recommend. I wish you well as you find balance on your journey.

doctor here...do not stop abruptly. tell your doctor you dont want to take it anymore so that he can gradually reduce the dosage for you. goodluck

I have bipolar 2, and cognitive behavioral therapy has helped me a lot. Also, meditation and regular exercise help keep me grounded.

I understand why people get off meds. Why they want to see their new baseline. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself on different meds in 6 months

Hiiii, please don’t stop abruptly before notifying your clinician. I’m not sure which antipsychotic you were taking but the safest approach is typically a gradual, clinician guided taper & the schedule depends heavily on the specific drug, dose, & how long you’ve taken it! There’s quite a bit that can result from sudden discontinuation like withdrawal symptoms and in some cases it can cause the symptoms the medication was treating to return or worsen.

Don’t just stop your medication cold turkey, allow your physician to wing you off.. you’re doing more harm than good when you cold turkey stop

What are you taking out of curiosity? I do low dose Seroquel and it’s enough for me. 25 mg helps put me to sleep. Really struggle to sleep without it.

Oh bby I got akasthisia from latuda and my doctor tried to put me on propranolol and I cut it cold turkey bc it wasn’t helping and we shouldn’t experience it. She changed me and put me on caplyta, I know it’s so scary to try other ones but if you ever do need to try it again i suggest caplyta ❤️im also bipolar 2, on a large amount at the moment. Lithium, pristiq, prazosin and others

I went cold turkey off Abilify, and went manic, had psychosis, blew up my marriage and my life. That was 2 years ago. Still picking up the pieces. I would highly suggest tapering off.
