Dogs come into this world knowing nothing about cruelty. They only know how to love, trust, wag their tails, and look at a human being with eyes full of innocence. They don’t understand why some people hurt them, abandon them, neglect them, or leave them helpless on
streets. The streets can be such a cruel place for these innocent souls. They can be hit by vehicles, attacked, abused, or left injured and alone. Some lose their legs. Some suffer terrible injuries to their spines and limbs. Some are forced to live in pain, dragging themselves along because they no longer have the ability to walk. And the saddest part is that many of these injuries are not caused by accidents at all. They are caused by humans who have no compassion — humans who hurt animals that are completely defenceless, animals who would never hurt them in return. Imagine being a dog who cannot speak, cannot ask for help, and cannot understand why the person who was supposed to protect you has abandoned you. Some dogs need wheelchairs just to experience the freedom of moving again. Some need operations, prosthetic limbs, physiotherapy, medication, food and years of care. Yet despite everything they have endured, so many of them still have the heart to trust a human again. And then, thankfully, there are the angels. ❤️The people who
stop when everyone else walks past. The people who pick up an injured dog from the road. The people who take them to the vet. The people who pay for their treatment. The people who build wheelchairs for little bodies that can no longer walk. The people who foster, rescue, feed, protect and love them. The people who give them the second chance they never asked for, but so desperately deserved. These rescuers may not be able to save every animal in the world, but to the one life they save, they are the whole world. Dogs don’t ask for luxury. They don’t ask for money, a beautiful home or expensive things. They ask for something so simple — a safe place, food, kindness, and someone who will not abandon them. If humans are capable of creating so much cruelty, then let us also be capable of creating kindness. This is true for ALL ANIMALS, not just dogs.
