Union carpenter here. Not getting any of those things on my barely over a 1000 take home a week. Laid off maybe a month outta the year. If you’re lucky enough to have found a company that gives overtime great but mine doesn’t. I honestly feel stuck being in this 10 years now.

wish it was that easy. been trying to get in any union i can for the past 4 years. made it to the interview for electricians twice, passed the operators interview but didnt get picked, been trying 2 years to get into carpenters but every contractor tells me they're not hiring.

Union machinist here. I don’t get these comments. Easiest money I’ve ever made. And I’ve been in the carpenters union and the pulp and paper workers union. Machinist is definitely the way to go. Guys are retiring with upwards of 8-14 million in their 401’s
