I make my apple butter from start to finish in my crockpot. I just use the wooden spoon to prop open the lid. It takes 24 hours but your home smells delicious and the neighbors wonder what smells so good

Cortland apples also make a really pretty applesauce. We buy great big bags of deer apples and cook them down for an apple sauce and apple butter. we feed the scraps to the deer 😁😁😁
