I saw a comment somewhere mentioned about how the girl should not hurt a boy's feelings with words that may trigger violent response or misfortune upon her and should not directly reject but divert it with sweet words. I cannot brain lah this kind of mindset, No means No. That's it. Every parent should teach their children that other people are not obligated to say yes to them just because they 'asked'. If they said NO then it's a NO. Not everything has to be the way u wanted. That's not how the world works.

I have 5 daughters. Why should I be the only one teaching my girls how to protect themselves? Why not teach your sons how to respect women too? Just look at what happened to Irene Sofiya, 16. Pergi sekolah for extra class, tapi tak balik rumah. And this is not even the first time we’ve seen things like this. Yap Shing Xuen, 16, kena stabbed at school. Nur Anisah, pregnant, was murdered by her boyfriend and her body was burned. Like seriously, how many more girls need to die before we start asking parents to teach their sons too? I’ll teach my 5 daughters to be careful, yes. But you teach your sons also lah. Teach them NO means NO, respect boundaries, don’t hurt women just because you’re angry or kena reject.ajar anak lelaki supaya dia tak jadi penyebab anak perempuan orang lain tak dapat balik rumah. Simple je. Don’t just teach your daughters how to avoid bad men. Teach your sons not to become one.

I kept seeing some parents trying to guilt trip other parents into imagining that the murderer is their own kid but never once they want to imagine that the victim is their own daughter! even in Islam at that age they are carrying their own sins as they're already considered as adults, not mere children anymore!

Saya ada 3 anak lelaki remaja. And saya selalu ingatkan diorang utk hormat perempuan/wanita. Mcm mana awak hormat mama, nenek, aunty2 awak mcmtu juga awak hormat mereka. Unfortunately, my eldest son kena buli verbally di sekolah oleh rakan kelas perempuan dia. Betapa dia pegang kata2 saya utk hormat perempuan. Sampai dia kena kasar pun dia diam je. Bila saya tahu saya terus confront pelajar tu, parents dia & cikgu. And sekarang dh xkena kacau lagi. Sebab saya ugut akan bawa kes ni ke pihak polis kalau anak saya cedera oleh dia. Mencabar ye jaga anak2 lelaki @ perempuan zaman ni. Semoga mendapat keadilan buat arwah Irene & Idlan.. dan ditempatkan dalam kalangan org yg beramal soleh.
