If the Foreign players are on an athletic scholarship I agree. If their wealthy or ex-NHL dads are paying full pop then their nationality should not be considered. The wealthy will always achieve resume building for business & politics. If they had competative hockey at Oxford or Cambridge, wealthy Canadians would send their kid there as well. Major junior hockey in Canada has a problem with too many European players taking Canadian and American spots on teams. Here is the punch line: If they reduce Canada

This is just a bad take as at cokes from a singular perspective. The entire point of playing d1 isn’t just to make the pros but to also get an education. Scholarships are actively being given to foreign students taking away opportunities from American students.

Who cares if I’m a Michigan fan I’m screaming as loud as I can for the boys wearing blue sweaters I don’t care if they’re never gonna get to the NHL or the AHL or even the ECHL… I’m cheering for the product that is on the ice and if that product could be better, it doesn’t matter because everybody in the NCAA is playing with the same rules, so Ohio State is going to be missing out on the foreign players just like Minnesota is and just like Wisconsin is… The bottom line is if you’re a fan you’re cheering for the product that you have on the ice not what you could have. This is such a horrible take.

The key statement is “yes it will help American hockey players”….with 20% you will stay have all the top non Americans (5-6 per team)….the quality will not change one iota….

What I read was 20% across all sports. So is that each team needs less then 20% or like the whole school? Like if it’s the whole school the only school that will be effected would the the schools without football programs

home grown players goes up, competition and prestige drops drastically… i don’t think it’s worth it to cut out imports it should be the best of the best get in. with grades and behaviour ofc playing part.

Your missing the bigger picture. They are basically Turing it into a USA development program for the world juniors team and Olympic team in the long run. Allowing the USA to develop more USA talent. So while they’re making moves hockey Canada is out here trying to worry about everyone feelings getting hurt

good👍! NCAA should be only for American kids, not for foreigners. They come here for free education and free money, Who cares if NCAA become weak, our kids deserve free scholarships, not foreigners. Obviously this guy talking nonsense, you definitely don't have kids this is why it's so hard for understand, for challenge join Junior hockey or NHL not NCAA.
