@chelsea_weber6: People often see the medical side of childhood cancer. The diagnosis. The treatment. The hospital. The relapse. But there is another side that is harder to see. There is the mother who has to stay calm when she is frightened. There are siblings who still need attention. There are everyday responsibilities that do not disappear simply because one child is sick. That has been my reality since Maxim was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in September 2020. I have watched him go through treatments and hospital visits, hoping each time that we were getting closer to the end of this journey. But the cancer returned. Now Maxim is facing his third relapse. Our family has travelled from Russia to Spain, and Barcelona has become the next part of his treatment journey. I cannot control every part of what happens next. What I can do is continue being his mother, continue searching for possibilities, and continue telling his story. Sometimes people ask what they can do. For us, simply helping Maxim’s story reach another person can mean more than they realize. #Neuroblastoma #ChildhoodCancer #CancerMother #CancerJourney #SupportMaxim
