It’s disingenuous to say that Sellwood MS is the only middle school potentially on the chopping block. This proposal intends to turn 7 k-8 schools into k-5, meaning that 8 middle schools are impacted, it’s just that only one is a standalone middle school closure.

I think there should just be a big investigation to see where tax money for PPS really goes.. if they find funding to things that are not for education and stop that maybe just maybe they might be able to save schools 🤷♂️

that power point was lacking a lot of information that folks need to see. we need detail data supporting the decision for each school. also leaned in on general funds. we would like to see a full budget picture that includes all funding inclusive of fundraising from parents. we would like to see enrollment data per school as well. no vote until we are sure the board has a full understanding not 1 consultant group with a PowerPoint that was lacking.
