Volunteers have described Baxter as timid, avoidant, and fearful, but he has not shown negative behavior toward people. He has allowed staff into his kennel and has remained relaxed even when unsure of what was happening. He may simply be overwhelmed by the shelter environment and needs someone willing to give him the time and space he deserves. ❤️ 🐶 With other dogs: Baxter has been tolerant in playgroup and tends to keep to himself. He has not shown much interest in greeting or playing with other dogs yet, but he was assessed as Social/DG – Dainty & Gentle. He was also successfully cohoused with Hallie A1296175 on 9/19. 🩺 MEDICAL: Baxter is heartworm positive and has documented hair loss over his body, with a possible wound on his right paw. His adoption exam was completed 9/3, and he received routine vaccines, flea/heartworm prevention, and Pyrantel. He was presented for neuter surgery on 9/30. ⚠️ Due to shelter capacity, Baxter is currently at risk for euthanasia.
