@texasmodehq: One Texas oil well helped change the future of Texas and American industry. 🛢️ On January 10, 1901, drilling crews at Spindletop south of Beaumont struck oil at 1,139 feet. The Lucas Gusher sent oil more than 100 feet into the air and flowed for nine days before workers capped it. Estimates put production at more than 75,000 barrels per day. The discovery triggered a massive Texas oil boom and helped reshape American transportation and industry.
