I remember back, way back, in my day when we were coming home after deployment and they’d tell us San Diego was on the horizon. We would go topside in our dress uniforms and we’d cheer the sight. It was a feeling I still remember.

As a spouse of a sailor, every ship I watch leave and get to watch return is always so emotional for me. Whether or not my person is aboard. I still understand the struggle the sacrifices and missions that are happening as I watch or experience it myself. I still cry and it makes me emotional. It was good emotional feeling watching them sail I today. Those are someone mommy’s daddy’s sons and daughters husbands and wives, and being the home anchor watching them come in is always near to me. Welcome home 72🇺🇸

Im sitting here in Orlando watching this crying. I lived in San Diego for 21 years and I have seen and been on the USS Abraham Lincoln. This is a beautiful sight. I can’t wait to get back home in San Diego next year. If this doesn’t make your heart swell with pride then I don’t know what will! Thank you to all the men and women for your sacrifice.
