@greaterkurdistan1: KURDISTAN, 1966 — HISTORY CAUGHT ON CAMERA 🇹🇯 This is not modern footage. This is Kurdistan in 1966, filmed by ITN journalists during the Kurdish war against the Iraqi government. The cameras travelled through the mountains of Kurdistan, reaching places including Rawanduz and Galala. They documented Kurdish fighters, military positions, the wreckage of an Iraqi MiG fighter, and buildings damaged by air attacks, including a school and a mosque. But beyond the war, the footage shows something equally important: the Kurdish people and their everyday lives. Men walking the streets, women caring for their children, children growing up in the mountains, and ordinary people continuing their lives despite the conflict. This is a rare window into Kurdish history, recorded more than 60 years ago. Before today’s headlines, there was a history the world needs to remember. Kurdistan’s past must never be forgotten. 📹 Source: ITN archival footage, 13 July 1966. #Kurdistan #KurdishHistory #GreaterKurdistan #Peshmerga #History
