@dot6405: 🚨 A man has died after being attacked inside a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park while terrified families watched on. The man was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to the park in Doncaster shortly after 1.35pm on Saturday, October 10. South Yorkshire Police said officers received reports of a man entering the tiger enclosure before he was attacked and suffered serious injuries. The animal bit and shoved the man around while he desperately cried out “no, no” and "back" from inside the habitat. Families shouted from a raised viewing walkway above the enclosure in a bid to distract the predator. One male onlooker was heard exclaiming “Jesus Christ”, while a woman said: “I tried to stop him.” She was also heard telling a fellow witness: “Don't look.” Midwife Amy Wright, 36, who was visiting with her family, said: "You could see the blood where the tiger had dragged the man. Someone who saw it said it had him by the neck." Hero keepers managed to scare the animal away by firing several gunshots into the air, forcing it to flee to a nearby hide. The insider confirmed the animal was not shot, stating: "The tiger was uninjured and is absolutely fine." "The barriers are huge. You would have to really want to get inside the enclosure to be able to do it," they added. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene at around 1.35pm on Saturday before a black screen was erected around the area. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. South Yorkshire Police confirmed the park was evacuated and that officers remain on the scene carrying out enquiries. #NewsForYou

but how did he get in there he shouldn't have been able to get into that enclosure it should have been too high for him to climb covered on the top something I'm not saying it's all the zoo faultbut you shouldn't be able to get in there and why weren't they trained to tranquilize the tiger if they ever had to what did they have a gun and tranquilizers to at least put him to sleep

This is the ultimate scenario that I sometimes think about with adults who have autism and if they don’t have someone watching them or some sort of caregiver. I feel so bad. I’m sure he didn’t understand what was happening and it’s even worse that his final moments were pain.

Not sure why the zoo employees didn’t act sooner to help ??😡 why not “dart” the tiger immediately, to get him away from the guy ??

This is a tragedy that should not have happened!! The gentlemen who entered the tiger’s enclosure should have known the dangers of being in the tiger’s enclosure! Of course the tiger attacked, this is the tigers domain! This is a beautiful wild tiger whose wild instincts took over! My condolences to the family! 🙏

As a mother of someone with autism, I would give a dollar for every time someone said ‘why did they let her do that?’ I would be a wealthy woman. She was a major escape artist and could get out of almost a new situation.

Not quick enough. Too many spectators recording this horrific attack. A man's life was lost but all anyone cares about is whether the tiger will live, shameful. You'll need a reality check.
