She lived under parents who put all their expectations on her, while her sister was traveling around the world and living life to the fullest. On top of that, she was tied to a man she married out of obligation, who was abusive to her only child (and possibly even to her herself) and never loved her. When she finally got free from Colt, she realized that they were at Gabriel's mercy, someone who could take her only child away from her in the snap of his fingers. And then her sister died, yet she was still kind to both Felix and Adrien, to the point that she came to Paris to support him when the truth came out. If I were Amelie, I wouldn't trust the world either after all that.
