@pastorontherun: We just got home from Israel, and I can't stop thinking about it. We stood on the Mount of Olives where Jesus ascended. We prayed at the Garden Tomb, an empty tomb in a quiet garden. We worshipped at Shiloh, where Hannah poured out her heart. We floated in the Dead Sea, crossed the Sea of Galilee by boat, and walked the streets of Capernaum, where Jesus taught and healed. We even sang the Doxology alone in a church at the Pool of Bethesda, and it felt like the room was built for it. But it wasn't only the sites. It was the people. Jerusalem is somebody's home, full of families, music in the square, warm bread, and kindness everywhere we turned. We felt welcomed and safe, and we felt loved. Reading the Bible will never be the same for us. Stories we've known our whole lives now have hills, roads, and water we can picture. As McCayla put it, the Bible became more alive. If you've ever thought about visiting the Holy Land, this is your sign. Go. Walk where Jesus walked. Pray where Hannah prayed. Meet the people who call this land home. It will change how you read Scripture and how you pray. Thank you, Israel. We'll be back.
