My car goes down faster from full to half than half to empty, so I just stick around the half metre, petrol stations everywhere

What the theory also ignores is, in times like these, you could save a pound all while the cost of fuel goes up so that you don’t even save that since the rise in price negates the saving

In a 2 ton car an extra 25kg of diesel is a drop in the ocean.

Why stop halfway? Just don't buy fuel at all and just push your car around, it's way cheaper

I don’t go to the fuel station unless I’m filling my tank. Never done half and wouldn’t do that

is it true that the hose measures flow rather than liquid, so if you pull the trigger full you get a load of bubbles? I heard it's better to gently hold the trigger half-way to ensure smoother flow and less bubbles.
I also heard it's better to fill up at night as the colder temp means you also get more fuel because of the bubbles
no idea if any of it is true, but it doesn't hurt so I'm doing them 😂😭

I did the maths on it the other day, it equates to less than a 1% fuel saving, you would do significantly more for your fuel economy by making sure your tyres are correctly inflated

plus with the speed of price increases your better off filling up a full tank to lock in the savings

not to mention fuel is going up in price every 3 days so you will save by filling up even if you pass a station daily.

When I fill up to the brim I seem to get a LOT longer out of it .......... I was putting in half every 3-4 days but when I fill it up I'm still on half a tank over a week later for some reason.
