And in Canada you would pay nothing. Yes your income tax is 1-3% higher but you don’t pay monthly insurance (a small amt depending on province) and you walk in and out without a bill. No calls. No worries. And you get paid the full time off work without risk of losing your job. It is cheaper for the country over all and healthcare is actually better based on longevity and wait times are similar

Gosh that’s scary , I’m in Australia. I choose to go private and I paid nothing for my gall bladder and hernia operation last week. If I went public I still wouldn’t have paid but it would have taken longer . I do have a very high private insurance so I used it . Hope you get well soon x
