Immunotherapy had stopped working, and her doctors offered chemotherapy as a last resort, telling her it might give her just a couple more months. When we sat down to interview Debi, she told us something that gave me chills. Before leaving the hospital that day, a nurse she had never met walked into her room and suggested she get a second opinion at a hospital two hours away. Debi never saw that nurse again. But something told her to listen. A week later at Siteman Cancer Center, Dr. George Ansstas and Dr. David Chen identified an opportunity based on her melanoma’s NRAS mutation.
