It's easy to shout Hallelujah when everything is finally working in your favour. But what happens when you've prayed and there is still no answer? When you've cried and the situation hasn't changed? When you've trusted God, but the waiting seems longer than you expected? When everyone else seems to be moving forward, and you're still asking, "Lord, when will it be my turn?" Will you still worship Him? Will you still lift your hands when you don't understand His plans? Will you still call Him faithful when you haven't seen the evidence you've been praying for? Listen, worship is not a transaction where we praise God only because He has given us what we want. We worship Him because He is God, because He is worthy, and because His character does not change with our circumstances. Habakkuk said that even if the fig tree did not blossom and there was no fruit on the vine, “Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” — Habakkuk 3:17–18 (KJV) That is the heart of worship: not pretending that everything is okay, not denying the pain, and not giving up on your prayers, but choosing to trust God even while you wait. You can cry and still worship. You can have questions and still worship. You can be disappointed and still come before Him honestly. Your unanswered prayer does not make God unworthy of your worship.
