@anyaturner98: These are some of my go to movements when mine starts playing up! I personally get pretty bad lower back pain around my period, so having a little routine that combines mobility, stretching AND strengthening is a must for me. Here’s why I love these movements: ✨ Banded Cat Cows (on knees) Encourages movement through the spine, with a little extra focus on the lower back. ✨ Knee to Chest (lower back on roller) is a lovely way to gently stretch and relieve some tension through the lower back. ✨ Seated Side Bends gets us moving into lateral flexion (side bending), a direction we often neglect! ✨ 1/4 Couch Stretch opens up the front of the hips and targets the hip flexors, which can contribute to how our lower back feels (deep lunge is an easier alternative) ✨ Core Strengthening because it’s not ALL about stretching! Building strength through the core helps improve trunk stability and our ability to tolerate everyday movements. Something I always like to remind people is that our lower back is designed to MOVE. We don’t need to avoid moving it or be afraid of using it. Sometimes a little gentle movement is exactly what feels good, especially during that time of the month. ❤️ Save this one for when your lower back needs a little extra love! #lowerbackpain #spinalmobility #movementismedicine #corestrengthening #lowerbackpainrelief
