And fun fact: my husband actually worked here when we were dating! ❤️ Nonna’s favorite? The broccoli rabe calzone. And while Louie & Ernie’s is known for its incredible regular slice, don’t let that flop fool you. I’ll battle Dave Portnoy on this one any day. We’re not looking for an undercarriage here, people. We’re looking for a flavorful, old-school New York slice that speaks for itself. And because I genuinely can never decide which I love more, I got both the regular slice and Nonna’s beloved broccoli rabe calzone. No regrets. My husband was thrilled to come home and find the other half of that calzone waiting for him. A few more things you need to know: 🍕 The sausage slice is another favorite, made with sausage from S&D on Crosby Avenue, right down the block. 🫒 The regular slice with black olives is also something magical.
