Because thats weird asf. Its OUR baby. I have only brothers and my husband has only brothers. We have our dads and each have Stepdads bc our moms remarried. I want ALL of our support system there bc I expect them to be our village. Ever since i was little i thought it was HELLA weird the dad and men were never there.

I think it’s because back in the day everyone knew who you were pregnant by (your husband) so it was ladies only. I think the new age way is to show who your child’s father is and prove he’s present because people can’t assume due to lack of marriage, but that’s just my hypothesis.
