I used to work by that Savers, all of my coworkers - we all had stories about trying to use the crosswalks at the corner on Maryland and Charleston and then the light-up one that cuts directly across the street too (they had a police turkey walk a few years back for this reason) and almost getting smacked by impatient drivers, and a few fatalities up the road over time (worked around there for 6+ years)...
