Key facts about her: Party: National Democratic Congress (NDC) In office: Since 7 January 2013 - she has served in the 6th, 7th, 8th and now 9th Parliament Born: 26 December 1961 in Pusiga Background: Trained teacher. She taught from 1981-1991, became a head-teacher, and later Officer in charge of Day Nursery Schools under GES. She attended Pusiga Continuation Middle School, Gbewaa Teacher Training College, and University of Education, Winneba where she got a Bachelors in Basic Education. Parliament work: Strong women activist. She was Chairperson of the Committee on Gender and Children from 2013-2017, represented Ghana at CEDAW in Geneva, and was one of the sponsors of the Anti-Witchcraft Accusations Bill. She also served as part of Ghana's delegation to ECOWAS Parliament. She is known for advocating for women's inclusion, calling for enforcement of the 30% quota for women in public sector, and for development projects in Pusiga like CHPS compounds, boreholes and support for women and PWDs. In November 2025 she was in the news after comments she made in Parliament about the El-Wak Stadium GAF recruitment stampede that killed 6 young women, which she described as "ordained by Allah".
