@billy.the.bernese: This was the first time we took Billy inside a café and sat down for a proper meal together! 🥹🐾 We’ve visited Barnshaw Smithy in Mobberley, Cheshire plenty of times before, but always sat outside. Billy already knows the café, and we knew it’s usually lovely and quiet first thing in the morning, so it felt like the perfect place to take this next step. We’ve taken our Bernese Mountain Dog puppy to lots of dog-friendly cafés, pubs and restaurants with outdoor seating, but sitting calmly inside while we enjoyed breakfast was a whole new challenge. And he did SO well! 🥹🤎 We’re slowly building up his confidence and practising settling in different environments, with the ultimate goal of enjoying lots of cosy, dog-friendly pub lunches together as winter approaches. 🍂 Training a teenage puppy to settle in busy places takes time, patience and plenty of practice, but little moments like this remind us why it’s so worth it. Because the dream isn’t just to have a dog who behaves in cafés. It’s to have a dog who feels happy and comfortable coming along on all our little adventures. 🤎 Does anyone else have a dog they’re training to settle in cafés and pubs?
