In a controlled study, researchers suppressed the men’s natural testosterone production and gave them weekly testosterone enanthate for 20 weeks. Average TROUGH testosterone — the LOWEST level before the next weekly injection: 💉 25 mg/week → 253 ng/dL 💉 50 mg/week → 306 ng/dL 💉 125 mg/week → 542 ng/dL 💉 300 mg/week → 1,345 ng/dL 💉 600 mg/week → 2,370 ng/dL These are trough levels — NOT the post-injection peaks. The study also found progressively greater increases in fat-free mass at the higher doses. ⸻ 🧪 WHAT ABOUT hCG WHILE TAKING TESTOSTERONE? A separate study gave men 200 mg testosterone enanthate/week, which suppressed LH and FSH and reduced intratesticular testosterone by about 94%. Researchers then added hCG every other day: 💉 Testosterone alone → intratesticular T ~94% BELOW baseline 💉 + 125 IU hCG EOD → ~25% BELOW baseline ≈ 75% of original intratesticular T maintained 💉 + 250 IU hCG EOD → ~7% BELOW baseline ≈ 93% maintained 💉 + 500 IU hCG EOD → ~26% ABOVE baseline So even 125 IU hCG every other day produced a large restoration of testosterone inside the testes, with progressively smaller additional gains as the dose increased. ⚠️ Important: These hCG numbers are intratesticular testosterone, not blood testosterone levels. hCG can increase serum testosterone too, but you cannot translate “75% restored” into a specific serum testosterone number.
